dScope Series III is the ultimate package for analogue, digital & carrier analysis:
dScope delivers the functionality and precision needed for the latest audio technology such as CD, DVD, high-end audio, Internet audio, digital telephony and communications.
As well as covering the traditional audio test functions, dScope incorporates the important new features needed to work with the latest audio technologies. These include digital interface test tools such as carrier waveform and eye-pattern display, jitter measurement and AES3/IEC958 channel status generation and analysis as well as support for higher sampling rates.
Comprehensive:
The dScope signal generator has two independent channels, and generates in the analogue and digital domains simultaneously. As well as standard waveforms, the generator can source arbitrary waveforms and synchronous multi-tones.
In the signal anlyzer, two-channel level, frequency and phase measurements are continuously available from either domain, as well as a two-channel continuous-time function and up to 30 FFT-derived measurements. Continuous FFTs may be performed at up to 256k point resolution with 64-bit floating point maths. Measurement accuracy, especially of small residuals in the presence of large signals, is uniquely maintained.
Carrier degradation and analysis capabilities include jitter, amplitude, rise/fall times, sampling-rate deviation, auxiliary data (channel status, valid etc.).
Graphical traces types include 'scope, FFT, sweep, analyzer residual and FFT of analyzer residual (all for both channels simultaneously) plus carrier eye diagram. Sweeps can be made of up to four parameters simultaneously (including carrier parameters).
Automated testing, plus customisation of many of the dScope's functions, is via Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting (VBScript). A versatile, hierarchical store system is also included.
Compatible
dScope works with a PC running Windows 98 or 2000. Communication with the PC is via USB, providing true plug-and-play installation with no need to put anything inside the PC. dScope supports the new OLE/COM standards, allowing data to be exchanged easily with other applications such as spreadsheets, databases and word processors for report generation, record-keeping and analysis.
Convenient:
Offering so much, the dScope could have been complicated to use, but the screen display is easily tailored to suit the user and the application. Whether a simple generator and voltmeter are all that's needed, or a sophisticated configuration with FFT, 'scope, eye-pattern and other displays, the dScope is equally suitable.
