Group Mode
To avoid hearing other groups using the same
channel in crowded areas, select Group Mode and choose a CTCSS number from 1
to 38. This feature lets you enjoy clear and smooth communications with
friends in the group anywhere, anytime.
Secret Mode
If you want a more private conversation when Group
Mode is active, use Secret Mode for confidentiality.
Auto Channel Select
The UBZ-LJ8's auto channel select automatically searches and begins
reception as soon as a vacant channel is found. For reception, pressing the
PTT will automatically initiate a scan for a vacant channel. Furthermore,
UBZ-LJ8 radios set to the same group mode can automatically search out and
lock onto a vacant channel, allowing you to enjoy conversations free from
interference*2.

Loudness
Using the radio in crowded, noisy surroundings can be inconvenient as
interference impairs communications. In such conditions, you can engage the
loudness function to make it easier to hear the other person's voice
clearly.
Hands- Free VOX Operation
The UBZ-LJ8 is equipped with a VOX
feature that provides convenient hands-free operation without an optional
headset (KHS-21). This allows for effortless communications while enjoying
outdoor activities such as cycling and also makes the UBZ-LJ8 a handy "baby
phone" to monitor a sleeping infant while you're in another room.
